NECSS Embarks on Power of 15 Initiative

In August 2014, members of the NECSS partnership embarked on the Power of 15 initiative. The mission of the Power of 15 is to ensure all students graduate high school with one semester of college credit completed. This initiative works to increase the number of dual credit courses offered, the number of students enrolled in those courses, and the alignment with credential completion.

In FY20, there were 351 sections of dual credit courses taught in the high schools, 129 high school dual credit instructors, and NECSS students saved $3.4 million by earning dual credit through Harper College. These savings are an increase from FY18 and FY19 at $2.3 and $2.8 million respectively. Current data suggests 43% of dual credit students enroll at Harper following high school graduation.
